SiteNote Privacy Policy
Effective date: 22 October 2026
This policy explains how the SiteNote app handles data.
Who we are
SiteNote is developed by Dr Ally Yeo.
- Email: allywork715@gmail.com
- LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/allyyeo
Summary
- Your data stays on your phone.
- We do not collect, receive or see your data.
- The app does not ask for internet access.
- The app has no ads, no analytics, no crash reporting and no sign-up.
What data the app handles
You enter the data. The app stores it on your phone, inside the app. This can include:
- Checklists, audits and inspection results
- Remarks and actions, with due dates
- Photos, including photos you mark up
- Signatures captured on screen
- Names and other details of people or sites you record
- Dates for reminders of the next inspection
- Reports, CSV files and backup files you create
What the developer collects
We collect no data. The app does not send any data to us or to any server. We cannot see your data.
The app has no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising. It uses no third-party software development kits (SDKs) that collect data.
Permissions the app uses
- Camera: to take photos for an audit.
- Photos: to attach photos from your gallery to an audit.
- Notifications: to show reminders for the next inspection date. You can refuse this permission. If you refuse, you will not get reminders.
The app does not ask for internet access.
Sharing and export
You can export PDF reports, CSV files and a backup file. Use the Share menu on your phone to send them to a place you choose, for example Google Drive, OneDrive or email.
Once you share a file, the service you chose controls that copy. Read that service's privacy policy.
Photos taken with the camera may also be saved to your phone's gallery by the camera app. SiteNote does not control that copy.
Optional Google backup
Google backup is off by default.
If you turn it on, SiteNote saves a backup copy into a folder. Android's own backup system then copies that folder to your Google account.
- Android makes this backup only if your phone has a screen lock.
- Android encrypts the backup with a key that is protected by your screen lock.
- We never receive this backup.
- If you turn Google backup off, the app deletes its copy from your phone.
- To remove old backups, go to your Google account settings.
Children
SiteNote is not directed at children under 13. The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
Your choices and how to delete data
We do not hold your data. We cannot access, change or delete it for you. You control your data on your device.
- To delete saved audits, use the app: open Reports and tap the bin icon on an audit, or delete a template from the Templates screen.
- To delete all app data from your phone, uninstall the app. Uninstalling deletes the app's data from your phone, unless you exported it or turned on Google backup. Files you sent to other places are not affected.
- To delete a Google backup, turn off Google backup in the app, then remove old backups in your Google account settings.
Malaysia PDPA and EU GDPR
Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) cover the processing of personal data. We do not process your data, because the app never sends it to us.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the content you record and share with the app. Get consent from the people and sites you record, including their names, signatures and photos.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
